Tell Your Kids to Respect the Environment

We were on Holidays in Morocco when I first realized how important it is to tell the kids about the environment. Our son is now 4 years and we recently found him to be the very eco-conscious kid, that’s very fortunate. I’m not gonna tell the whole training experiences but the guide and tips as the outcome of my experiences with my kid teaching him how to manage with saving the environment in his personal capacity and that matters, every single one. That will be rewarded on the day when your kids will turn into adults and would be the giving hand, contributing to making some good change, you will be the happiest person on earth to know that.

Compelling the kids on the simplest and easiest things is so easy but to keep consistent with the activities is not everyone can do on his capacity. Your first thing to know is to be with your child when he is at least trying and trying again. If he tries an activity various times, He would be habitual of that activity very soon. There are many ways to teach your kids about the environment, I accorded them for you so you can easily find the best way as per your relation with your kid.

Help Your Kids Coming out of the Comfort Zone: Spend Weekends out in Nature

What’s bad in planning this weekend outdoors? That can be a great starter to get close to the idea to love nature. Let’s plan for hiking on the nearest trails or going to the park to play Frisbee or football, badminton is a good option though. If you are living in a coastal area so you have a great opportunity for fishing there. Riding a bicycle along with your kids is also feasible. I’m training my son for the Bicycle, He is trying hard, and would be successful one day.

Outdoor activities on weekends would develop the taste of fun for it. He will enjoy going outside the very next weekend and come up with comparatively better ideas. That would definitely lead your kids to give nature a better place in their daily life routine, in social and personal psychology we term it the comfort zone from where your kid has to come out, so help him come out.

Did you listen that the picture is worth a thousand words? Great, so the action is worth millions. What you do has a direct impact on your kids, so is time to lead your kids by your actions. Your actions would affect them more than the boring and somehow irritating parently lectures. Take the charge.

Gardening is a Great Learning

I have a small garden in my backyard, and grew flowers and vegetables there. I find it the best way to teach your kid to be involved in preserving the environment through planting and growing the garden in your home. Your kid will learn then how to recycle things to preserve the greenery and how important water is for plants, the same as for living beings. So plants are also the living being, that could be one of the first lessons to your kid. He/She could be seen watching the plants for hours to know how they grow overnight. It’s Fun.

Tell them the Importance of Growing Trees

On his last birthday, one month ago, my Son has planted a tree in the garden near our apartment. Other than this I’m also aiming to keep him in touch with the communities of the same activities. He will take part in such activities and learn the importance of trees this way.

You can arrange an art activity on the importance of trees to invite the age fellows, teachers, and parents. It would greatly help to spread awareness of the fact that how trees are imperative for the environment.

Tell them don’t to Waste the Resources

Food and water are the more quick examples to tell your kids during every meal, you can take a lead to save water and save food to be an example for your kids. You must be preserving the food to avoid the spoil. Preserving the food in Fridge and freezer is the facility everyone knows, but it is also an opportunity to avoid the food to be wasted and it is not a service to the environment.

While brushing our teeth and washing mouths in the morning, we waste a lot of water we should not. That is one of those simplest examples you will teach your kids how to save water. Telling them the facts can help you in that regard.

You can arrange a movie on a home about the importance of nature, it would impact a lot.

Disposing of the litter responsibly would be another great lesson your kid will learn. You can mention in your example about good and bad people. Kids will remember your taught value and it will not last anyway. Teaching a child in the right manner can’t allow the kid to reverse those values, those values become like the other basic instincts of life

Get Nearby on Foot, Save the Environment

If the destination you have to get, to is not so far, and within a walking distance, why do you still opt for a car and motorcycle for that purpose? To tell the facts and figures and by the easiest practical examples, you can convince your kid to use the causes of environmental pollution as less as possible.

Roaming around on foot would have a good impact on your health also. Do you remember the lesson of “Morning Walk” read in your primary grades?

Arrange Talks on Climate Change

Community talks with different topics regarding climate change would help the awareness in the community as a whole, and your growing kid specifically. One more effective action could be taken is to arrange these talks in the rushy and places full of pollution. Sitting in that place, and discussing climate change, its roots and causes, rights and wrongs, kids can relate the current situation with the past one with respect to the increasing concept of commercialism.

These are some activities by which your children and loved ones will start to get to know and engage with the importance of the environment in their lives. That sense obviously grows with age and time and you will see the fruit of the training when your child will grow up as responsible, nature-friendly, and sound with the reasons to pass on about preserving nature. Good luck with the smart brought up of your kids!!
